Cisco’s partnership with the NLEAFCF began in 2013 when Cisco Chairman and CEO, John T. Chambers, was honored with the first NLEAFCF Corporate Hero Award. The NLEAFCF created the Vincent Bennett, Jr. Memorial Scholarship at that Hero Awards Gala in memory of Vince who was not only a Cisco family member, but also served on the Hero Awards Gala benefit committee. We are proud to honor Vince’s memory through this annual scholarship – which provides a deserving college freshman with $20,000 over four years. And we are honored to have Cisco as a continuing partner in support of our mission and of the Vincent Bennett, Jr. Memorial Scholarship.
We are so grateful to our partners at Southwest Airlines for their assistance in traveling select scholarship recipients or first responder family members from across the country to our key events, including the annual Thanksgiving Parade Breakfast.
Louis Vuitton has been a major supporter of the NLEAFCF since our earliest days as a sponsor of our annual Thanksgiving Parade Breakfast. In 2005, when Louis Vuitton executive, Victoria Ovis, passed away, the NLEAFCF established the Victoria Ovis Memorial Scholarship Fund to honor Victoria’s more than 30 years of service with the Victoria Ovis the United States Customs Service and the Department of Homeland Security. We are honored to have Louis Vuitton North America as a continuing partner in support of our mission and of the Victoria Ovis Memorial Scholarship.
Kroll, Inc. joined forces with the NLEAFCF in 2014 when Kroll, Inc. CEO, Emanuele A. Conti, was honored with our Corporate Hero Award. Beginning summer of 2015, Kroll is partnering with the NLEAFCF to provide internships for select NLEAFCF Scholarship recipients. The Kroll internship program identifies and pairs young professionals with renowned industry mentors capable of fostering the talents and curiosity of tomorrow’s business professionals. The internship program provides an in-depth understanding and hands on experience with real-life cases that showcase Kroll’s tested investigative methodology. The NLEAFCF Kroll interns will be paid a stipend and will also be paired with an executive mentor who will help ensure that they are gaining the type of career advancing experience that will help differentiate them in their chosen field of work. We are honored to have Kroll as a continuing partner in support of our mission and as an internship partner.
We are also very lucky to have an active group of community members and organizations who hold creative fundraising events and campaigns to support our mission.
